Western Togolanders seized 10 AK47 rifles from 2 police stations


It has risen that the Western Togolanders who obstructed a few sections to the Volta locale Friday morning took with them 10 Ak47 attack rifles when they broke into the ordnance of the Aveyime and Mepe police headquarters. 


This was contained in the situational report recorded by the Sogakope Police to the Volta Regional Police order. 


"On 25th September 2020 at about 1:00 am, police had data that the western Togolanders had assumed control over the Aveyime and Mepe police headquarters, abducted of the staff, delivered the detainee in the cells and removed 10 Ak 47 attack rifles. 


"On the receipt of data, the Divisional authority C/supt. Mr Denis Fiakpui inchage men continued to the scene. At around 2: 15 am, data gotten demonstrate that, the radicals had supposedly overwhelmed the police, assumed control over the police vehicle, took the divisional officer's sidearm and seriously attacked and short him close by L/Cpl thrive Banini, administration driver and were raced to Bathor government emergency clinic," the report located by Starrfm.com.gh said. 


It included: "The military fortification group from Agorta Naval base were immediately reached who hurried to the spot. The military had an experience with the alledge rebels at Tademe and in the process weapon down three of the radicals and are presently at the sogakope government medical clinic. Military authorization group are at present on the ground at Aveyime and Mepe. Endeavors are in progress to move the harmed who are in basic condition to the police medical clinic for additional therapy". 


In the interim, the Police and Military have in a joint proclamation guaranteed Ghanaians that the circumstance has been managed.
