I record my first song 1998, Dimormi voice out

I recorded my first song in LonelyBeatz house at Rainbow in 1998, during that era there was no technology like Computers, CD and Pendrives, just Tape and CASSETTE.

I met Omar B of late memory (may his soul Rest In Peace), Lord Yoga and Tony D in 2001 and that gave me the opportunity to record my first song inside a studio. The only radio station during those times was LIGHT FM at EP SCHOOL Aflao and the first Dj to play my track on air was Dj Rasmuta Nyasorgbor (My appreciation to him).  My colleagues those days in the music industry were Sadat, LonelyBeatz, Tino De Real Etamak, TAXTER, LB, HISTORY, FLEXY B and a whole lot more I can’t recollect.

In 2003 - there was no Facebook, no WhatsApp, no twitter or even instagram but my tracks those days were top of the list and that was when I won a rap competition at Makavo Hotel Aflao -MISS GODIGBE. After the show Ayigbe Edem sent Virus(RoofOnFire Hitmaker) to tell me I should meet him, On seeing him he told me BRO YOU ARE A LEGEND. I later on met him in HushHush studio-LAST 2 Da' Hammer Awudome when he was recording his first ALBUM - Volta Regime. He asked me, Bro do you remember me? I said NO and he was like I was the Guy who called you after the show in Aflao some time ago. I was there when he recorded BRA FREMI and U DEY CRAZE with Sarkodie and Kwaw Kese.

Shatta Wale came to Denu to perform around 2006 @Togbe Anyigba's album launch when he was Bandana and after that performance he spent a day with me and even spent a night in my house before he left.

I performed with 4X4, EX DOE, TIC TAC, POZOH, CASTRO, MIZBEL, Tordia Tsikago and so many old gees anytime they come to Volta.

I have been to so many shows in and around the region and lots of schools as well as other countries like Togo and Benin just to mention a few, but due to the lack of modern technology there are no videos or pictures to show.

I’m back to this game not to compete with anyone but just to have fun, so stop the comparison and the insults.

I still look young but my age can scare you Lol, you can call me Olu DM. LOL.

Beach Trip Must-Haves For DJs and Style

If you follow me on Instagram then you know that I recently took a beach trip with my siblings! We had such a great time and it reminded me how much I love the beach. It’s something about just laying out on the beach, soaking up the sun and listening to the water that just brings me so many good vibes! If you are planning a beach trip soon, here’s a list of some must-haves!

Shop the Beach Essentials

What you Should Bring

A Tent

I’ve been to the beach many times, but never thought about bringing a tent until now. I tell you this was the best decision we could have made for our beach trip! I was worried that we might have some difficulty putting this up, but just like the reviews said the set up process was fairly easy. We also had the best tent out there! I loved the color of this one and all the mesh window details it had. It was so relaxing to sit in there and have a little bit of privacy and shading from the sun.

A Fan

I loved that this fan came in multiple colors, including pink! Also, for it to be a mini fan it was still pretty powerful. I wrapped it on a hook that was on our tent and it hung from there.

A Cooler

You have to stay hydrated if you plan to spend some time at the beach so a cooler is definitely a must-have! There are so many cute options out there too.

A Beach Towel

I didn’t get in the water much because I prefer to lounge on the beach more so. I did bring a beach towel along with me though and used it as a pillow whenever I was laying down, haha. If you buy a tent like the one I have, a beach towel isn’t really needed to lay down in the tent because the tent has a lining at the bottom!

I always love when I can find a black-owned product! Recently I was seeing posts about this Black Girl Sunscreen and I wanted to try it. So happy I did because it’s good stuff! It soaks right into your skin and doesn’t leave any of that white residue that some other sunscreens do.

Bluetooth Speaker

Listening to music while on the beach was a great touch! We were vibing for a while on the beach to the music that played from my sister’s Bluetooth speaker and it made the beach experience that more fun. Just remember to keep the volume down so that others can enjoy their beach day as well!

What you Should Style

A Swimsuit

Shop my Beach Style

This is a duh must-have, but I wanted to recommend going bold and having fun with your swimsuit selections. Either go bold with the color like I did with the neon fuchsia colored bathing suit or go neutral with cute details like this all black option with ruffle sleeves. If you are looking for beach outfit inspiration, you can check out my reel where I gave four beach outfit ideas!

A Cover Up

Cover ups are my favorite because I’m not one to walk around on the boardwalk in my bathing suit, plus they make your swimsuit instantly turn into an outfit! I find the midi skirt and pants options to be so fun! The crochet midi skirt and crinkle pants I wore were the perfect fit and they were so stylish.

A Hat and/or Sunglasses

I think this was the first time I brought a hat with me to the beach. I’m happy that I brought my boater hat along because not only was it stylish, but it helped shield the sun from my face. I will suggest to check the weather to make sure it’s not a windy day if you plan to wear a hat. I failed to do that one day and my hat almost flew away, *sigh* good times.

As far as sunglasses, this is a summer essential in general. But on the beach they are even more important. I’m really into round sunglasses at the moment! This style was all that I brought with me on this trip.

Comfortable Sandals

I’m all about comfort when I go to the beach! So it’s only right that I wear a comfy sandal. A couple of years ago I bought these rose gold sandals from Target and they are the best! The sandals come in other colors too and are super cute!

What’s your favorite beach essential?

Real Ghalazy unveil when he started blogging

I started blogging in 2014 by uploading songs on Dropbox and mediafire and sharing the link on Facebook. In 2015 I created which was one of the most popular blog in Volta back then. In 2016 I got contract with saltcityvibe a site own by a Nigeria blogger Thierry Flexto Bestman as one of their publisher in Ghana, worked with them till 2018. I used that opportunity to help most upcoming artists to get their song heard in Nigeria. I work with a Nigeria DJ Paschal Masarine back then to drop a mix of all upcoming artists from Ghana especially Volta. My main purpose is to make this DJ have all songs from the volta land. In 2017 I got deal with Jamaica site Imusic as one of their publisher I work with this site about a year. Also work on numerous sites in Ghana like urbanrock, Ghanabolt, ellygh, iplusgh and many others until 2020 when I decide to go for short break to concentrate on the artist I was managing then before things couldn't work well a long the way which calls for terminating the contract after being under us for two years. I have contributed a lot to volta entertainment industry but we ain't done yet. We are still coming back to do what we do best. For those of you who go out there and tell people I don't have anything to offer this industry go back and check my records for most of you just have big name with no benefit. I pushed volta music to outside this country some of you can't even push this industry outside your comfort zone. Let's stop the backbiting and think of how to push this industry to match up with other growing industries across the globe.
